Welcome and thank you for your interest in Oklahoma State University Cheerleading. In considering OSU, you have chosen a program that has a rich history of success on the fields and courts of the OSU athletic teams, as well as the competition floors of the Collegiate National Championships.
The purpose of the OSU Spirit Group is to support the athletic teams of OSU, encourage crowd participation, present a positive role model, communicate and socialize with alumni and fans, and attract positive attention to the university.

The benefits you will reap from your experience as an OSU cheerleader are far too many to list, however, one of the more important things to know about the program is: you do not pay for anything cheerleading related. You do not pay for camp, including camp clothes, cheer shoes, or travel.  You also have no costs involved with nationals.

We have several special events throughout the year that help enhance your total experience during your time in the program including our annual Christmas and Valentines parties and end of the year Spirit Banquet.

Financial Assistance

At OSU, we do not have a major scholarship program in place for cheerleading. However, there are several options that can serve as aid for qualified applicants.
  1. Non-resident Incentive Waiver Scholarships.
    • $3750 per year awarded for up to 4 years    for freshman and 3 years for transfers. Waivers may not be used on summer tuition.
    • To be considered, freshman must have a 24 on the ACT or (1090 on the SAT). Transfer candidates must have 24+ credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • Students must complete at least 28 credit hours and maintain a 3.0 at OSU during the preceding academic year.
  2. Spirit Calendar Personal Fund Raiser
    • Each year, we do a photo shoot for our Spirit calendar. Each squad member is given a box of calendars to sell. The proceeds from your first 10 calendars goes back to the program, the rest of the proceeds from the calendar is given to the members of the Spirit Group. If you sell your entire box, you can have more! This produces an easy source of income to assist our athletes.
